Something Good
Van Turner, 1990

From a radio blares Mellancamp:
"When the walls came tumbling down!"
Years before marching feet would tramp:
A repressed people, freedom bound.

Axes fall, chips fly in the damp:
A repressed people, freedom bound.
From a radio blares Mellancamp
As the symbol of hate is downed.

Years before marching feet would tramp,
A man would sing of what is sound,
And a people, freedom bound would stamp
"When the walls come tumbling down!"
