A World Apart
Van Turner, 1990

I've flown across the ocean
A world's length from mine
And I found my compassion.

The ground left with such compression
And my stomach began to whine;
I've flown across the ocean.

The horizon, where the ocean
Met the sky, became a line
And I found my compassion.
We found the ground's direction

In a world different from mine;
I've flown across the ocean.
The great city in its digression

Of many things from other times;
And I found my compassion.
A city of lights in many directions;

A nation of kings and queens out of time;
I've flown across the ocean
And I found my compassion.
